The Head of the Office of the World Health Organization in North Macedonia, Anne Johansen, visited the University of Tetova. During her stay at our University, she first held a joint meeting with the Rector, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Asst. Dr. Vegim Zhaku and other collaborators. Rector, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, first, informed Mrs. Anne Johansen about the activities of the University of Tetova in general, as well as the activities carried out by the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Among other things, he said that the University of Tetova is one of the three universities in the country that has the Faculty of Medical Sciences, which has the largest number of students from the country and the region. We are interested in exploring the possibilities of cooperation with you, respectively the Faculty of Medical Sciences and the WHO Office in Skopje that you lead. He said that, until now, the students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, together with their professors, have marked all the important dates marked by the WHO, in order to inform and sensitize the population to pay special attention to health.
The Head of the WHO office in Skopje, Anne Johansen expressed her willingness to cooperate with the students and staff of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. According to her, it is very important to give students the opportunity to send them to different trainings, in order to benefit from new knowledge and experiences in the field of medicine. Also, she said that with pleasure in the future, together with the academic staff and students of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, we will mark together all the important dates that the WHO marks all over the world.
After the meeting with the leaders of the University of Tetova, Mrs. Anne Johansen held a thematic lecture to the students and academic staff of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. The lecture was mainly focused on the activities of the World Health Organization in the Republic of North Macedonia and beyond.
